What are dental veneers?

Dental veneers are a thin, custom-made shell crafted of porcelain or similar material designed to cover the front side of teeth, either to improve the appearance of a tooth, or to protect a damaged tooth surface.

What is involved?

Very little preparation is required for dental veneers, just enough to prevent the tooth feeling too bulky. The front surface of enamel is adjusted to make room for the dental veneers cover. An impression will then be taken in our Lancaster surgery which will be sent to a laboratory where a dental technician will make the dental veneers to be returned for your dentist to cement to your tooth using a resin-composite material.

When are dental veneers used?

Porcelain dental veneers are extremely versatile and can be used to close gaps, align crowded or protruding teeth, or lighten tooth colour.
